Cynthia Aldrich
Cynthia Aldrich Pottery

www.cynthiaaldrichpottery.com

My functional pottery is made on the wheel from high fired stoneware clay. The glazes are food safe and feature flowing floral motifs in blues, greens and beige.

Lisa Alley

I once saw a picture of a quilt in a book and thought "I could make that". It took a very short time for me to become addicted to the feel of fabric and thread, the sight of color and pattern and the connection of tradition and technology. Five hundred quilts later, the addiction grows stronger every day.

Joseph Anderson

Sculptor Joseph Anderson creates minimalist forms in forged iron. Lines trace and tumble through space as their movement sings the dance of life.

Gene Arnold

www.mudduckpottery.net

Over the last few years, both Gene and Latonna have enjoyed the festival circuit and invitations to display their work as close as Seagrove and the NC mountains and as far away as Georgia. Their pottery has become easily recognizable. What fills the showroom shelves represents hours of intensive, usually muddy, work with the pottery wheels, mixing glazes for just the right color, hot sweltering hours at the kiln and often cold fingers from cooling and washing of the raku pots.

Veronica & David Bennett
Bennett Glass Art

www.bennett-glassart.com

Our work explores the interplay between our contemporary glass designs and found objects--ancient and modern; between our unconscious connections awakened in memories and our conscious attraction to color, line, and movement; between the emotionally discarded and forgotten and the reawakening of the potential of seeing like children again.

I am a self-taught artist and my main goal with my work is to create color-rich and expression-filled pictures in which viewers can find stories and feelings of their own. I spend great care with each piece making sure that the lines are clean and clear and that the colors are rich and expressive.

Martha Claire Henzler

www.MarthaClaire.com

In the late eighties, I walked into a store to buy buttons. A quilt shop nearby piqued my curiosity and making quilts has become my passion. Like most quilters, this art form is not a hobby, but an addiction. I have studied with local and national teachers, and explored the traditional, contemporary and innovative methods to create a quilt, whether it be for a bed, wall or table. Since retirement I have more time to explore this art and create a piece with fervor for the future owner of my work . This may be a grandchild, nephew, friend or strange

David & Emily Sarah Lineback
Whitline Ink Incorporated

www.whitlineink.com

David Lineback and daughter, Emily-Sarah Lineback. My father (David) and I make handmade, old-fashioned rugs using my grandmother's loom from the early 1900s. When my dad was a little boy, he'd help her craft "rag rugs." He and I are proud to continue this tradition using a variety of materials to create one-of-a-kind textile art that's functional, beautiful, and long-lasting.

Marcia McDade McCann

I enjoy exploring new techniques in drawing and printmaking to maintain a unique style. My desire is to reconstruct a place from memory and create a sense of calm simplicity. Color composition and form are my most important tools. I love to loose myself in the journey to the surface

Christine McCormick

I believe that the opportunity to incorporate the traditional genre of fine art with techniques found at the frontier of new technology, enables me to present images and objects in ways never before imagined. I offer my vision and interpretation in creating art that excites emotion and engages a profound connection with others.

  Bernd G Mergener

Carolyn Owen

Every piece of metal I use had a life - a function or purpose - before I acquired it. By incorporating it into my sculpture, the metal acquires a new life. And finally, whoever purchases my art gives the metal another life.

Owen's sculpture reflects a lifetime spent outdoors studying, investigating, experimenting and loving nature. She describes her work as found object art, using mostly mild steel, copper and a few non-metal objects, such as glass, mirrors and rocks.

Gaff & Martha Pearce

www.lazylizardpottery.com

Making pottery allows Gaff and me to do the two things our mommas told us we couldn't do as children: play in the mud and play with fire. Seriously, making pottery brings us great joy and satisfaction knowing that our work becomes a part of others' homes and lives

Henna painting is a natural, painless and temporary body art.It is very good for skin. It is said in India that henna tattoos are very auspicious and bring all good fortunes in life.

Kathleen Ramich

www.ramichdesigns.com

My ceramic work often combines sculpture and functionality. I am fascinated by the contrast and similarities between mechanical and organic forms and like to play one off the other, blurring the line between them...

Susannah Ravenswing
Jewels of the Spirit

I delight in creating jewelry that is intimate and evocative, drawing inspiration from the Nature and the mythology and spiritual traditions of the world. My one-of-a-kind creations incorporate silver, gold, fossils and gemstones and are created with careful attention to craftsmanship and wearability.

Tad Rosier

As a self taught artist, each painting is a "learning adventure"; I learn something new with each stroke, with each mix of color. I primarily paint in an "impressionist realism" style. I strive to capture what’s in front of me but with an unrestrained choice of color and stroke.

Laurie Russell
NAKED DOG STUDIO

www.ruff-art.com

As an artist, I always try to capture the personality of the subject I'm painting. I have a deep regard for all animals. I love the use of bright colors to try to convey a certain spirit of the subject and fun in all of my paintings.

Vicky Schober
DESIGNS BY FERN-ORIGINAL HANDBAGS PAINTINGS BY VICKI SCHOBER

VICKI SCHOBER- The journey of my painting started with color and form and progressed to include emotion so that every piece I conceive begins with the passion and resolves itself in the paint. My figurative art evokes feelings and begs for the narrative of its conception in order to capture a single moment. When there is little time for a whole canvas, I enjoy painting on leather handbags, sometimes creating an original design; other times, homage to one of my favorite artists fills the space.

Cathy Shelor
Cathy Shelor Pottery

Creativity has always been an important part of my life, ever since graduating from the N.C. School of the Arts. While working in the travel industry, I was able to spend time in the American West, with its dynamic rock formations, and the Caribbean, which has such vibrant blue-green colors. Both aspects of nature influenced me to blend layers of color with hand-carved patterns in my pottery, to make it decorative as well as functional.

Artist: Mike Shinn
of G. M. Shinn Company

I constantly strive to combine old and new materials that present the appearance of a work that is generations old, culminating in a work of beauty and function that is both pleasing to the eye and the touch.

J. Sinclair

www.jsinclair.com

Growing up in the South has left a strong mark, which continues to manifest itself in his photography. His desire is to convey the sense of wonderment that comes from the grand vistas of the Blue Ridge Mountains, the small details of our rural tobacco farms and mill towns and the people that inhabit them.

Jen Swearington

I create fresh, versatile silk clothing and accessories that show off the wearer, not obscure her. Beginning with undyed silk on the bolt, I make and dye each piece individually using Japanese shibori, printed drawings from my sketchbook pages, and rust from old metal objects. Each hand-washable piece is signed rather than labeled, as it was made by an artist, not a factory

Susan Szesze

Sarah Watts
Sarah Watts Pastels

Carolina's countryside and coast furnish a prime inspiration for my paintings. Their lush waterways and skies invite me to share my vision of them through paintings. The pure space, punctuated by dramatic and seemingly timeless land forms and rivers, is extraordinary. The clarity of the colors of earth, plants, water, and indeed, of the very air, together with the soft palette makes for a special universe of light

Carole Wells
C.S. Wells Designs

Nature influences much of my work. My hope is to remind people to help preserve our fragile earth.
